Using advanced technology and a wealth of experience, our new professional club fitter will be able to help you create a golf bag that optimises your performance on the course.  

Stuart McEwing 

Stuart McEwing is a highly experienced club fitter with over 20 years of experience in the industry, and over a decade of full-time fitting, building and repair experience.  Stuart has recently relocated from Scotland to The Netherlands, and he is eager to share his love of all things golf technology with the members of The Dutch and the wider golfing community. 

Stuart’s love of the game began as a child, visiting the local golf courses of coastal Scotland with his father. As he grew older, he became fascinated with the technology of golf, and with the impact a different club or a small adjustment could have on his ball flight. Naturally, after becoming a golf pro at 21, he quickly transitioned into the club fitting space to follow this passion.  

Why Fitting? 

When asked why he chose to pursue a career in Club fitting, Stuart has the answer at his fingertips: 

“I love to see the immediate impact a club change can have on ball flights. With experience, a little trial and error and the modern technology now available, I can make real changes to a player’s ball flight incredibly quickly. Hearing how a few hours in the studio has translated to a client knocking real numbers off their scorecard is always satisfying and the best payoff a club fitter could ask for.” 

Stuart’s Five Favourites 

• Favourite course? 

“Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland. It’s a challenging but enjoyable links course and the events I have gone to at the course are always fantastic.” 

• Favourite Clubs to Fit? 

“Surprisingly, Wedges. I think these clubs are often overlooked and can have a huge impact on a golfer’s scorecard. They can also be a tricky club to fit, and I enjoy the challenge.” 

• Favourite Golf Pro? 

“Tiger. He is just that good.” 

•  Favourite Golf Bag Tip? 

“Know your gapping and build your golf bag accordingly. I hear the Dutch say, ‘Measuring is knowing’ and I believe choosing your club set up based on data is the first step to success on the course.” 

•  Favourite Hole at The Dutch? 

“I’d have to say hole 9. You have a nice view of the clubhouse and need to hit four perfect shots to get the par. A beautiful challenge.” 

Find your fit 

At The Dutch Academy we have made it easy to see if your on-course performance could benefit from a Clubfitting. Members of The Dutch or of The Dutch Academy can use our new Toptracer Driving Range to create a gapping chart of their current bag and then drop by Clubfitting to discuss their results with Stuart and see if there are any obvious issues. Alternatively, members or visitors can book a club health check and gapping session to go through their bag in depth with Stuart over 90 minutes to identify if any of their clubs need an adjustment, repair or replacement.
